Politics in State Assembly is more than those planning coup in Nigeria-Kogi Speaker Yusuf

The Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly Rt Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf says the politics in the State House of Assembly is more than those planning coup in the Country.

Our Kogi State Correspondent, reports that Rt Hon. Yusuf, stated this on Friday during the birthday ceremony of his Deputy Rt. Hon. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba in Lokoja.

The Speaker recalled the circumstances that led to the emergence of the current Deputy Speaker noting that in the last one year, she has been a trust worthy in her position.

He eulogized the immediate past Deputy Speaker late Rt. Hon. Enema Paul who died at the age of 46 after a protracted illness.

According to him" The current Deputy Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly is a dependable ally who I am confident will always have my back any time, any day. Politics in the House of Assembly is more than those planning coup in the Country.

"I am really proud of her because she has always represented us well. She is a good advocate of Women inclusively in Politics. Her aims is that, more Women should be represented in both the National and State House of Assembly".

The Speaker assured that the current eight Assembly will continue to make laws that will bring about meaningful development in Kogi State.

"We are doing everything in the State House of Assembly in the fair of God to ensure that there is justice, fairness and equitable distribution of our resources. Our concern is to ensure that Kogi State is developed among comity of States" he added.

Responding, the Deputy Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba noted that she remain committed in ensuring that dividends of democracy gets to her people.
